Physical Education

Physical Education at Avondale Grammar School: Our sports programmes assist all children to master technique and improve fundamental motor skills, along with fostering development, building social cooperation and fair play through team work.

Whatever the level of proficiency, the emphasis is on participation, being active and performing to the best of one’s abilities.

Students are taught and participate in a wide range of activities, including athletics, AFL, badminton, soccer, tag rugby, swimming, basketball, teeball, gymnastics, netball, cricket, hockey and dance.

From Year 3, children travel to nearby specialised facilities, including Delta Sports Complex, and Queenstown Athletics Track which have been chosen to offer the optimum learning environment. Successful Inter House sporting carnivals throughout the year engender House spirit, healthy competition, parental involvement and enjoyment.
